Registered Nurse - Nurse Team Lead
Job description:
At Oasis Fertility Centre, we are dedicated to supporting individuals and couples on their fertility journey with clinical excellence and exceptional care. We are seeking a Nurse Team Leader to provide high-level oversight and ensure our nursing unit operates with absolute precision and accountability.
This role is for a disciplined leader who will supervise nursing staff, enforce clinical standards, and manage the effective functioning of the nursing unit.
Key Responsibilities
Supervisory Leadership & Accountability
- Staff Oversight: Directly supervise the nursing team, including preparing schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels meet workload demands.
- Performance Management: Conduct annual performance evaluations and address any performance-related issues or conduct gaps in a timely and direct manner.
- Training & Orientation: Facilitate clinical competency sign-offs for all new nursing personnel and oversee the implementation of clinic standards.
- Incident Reporting: Ensure any critical clinical incidents are reported immediately
Clinical Excellence & Regulatory Compliance
- Regulatory Readiness: Lead all preparations for site visitations and accreditation by the CPSA, Health Canada, or other licensing bodies.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in continuous quality assessment and support in the development of policies and procedures related to the treatment of infertility patients.
- Clinical Practice: Provide expert direct patient care, including starting IVs, assisting in retrievals and transfers, and administering medications, while ensuring other staff meet these same requirements.
Administrative & Strategic Support
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly and quarterly reports for senior leadership.
- Collaboration: Organize Patient Review Meetings (PRM) and represent the nursing department on appropriate clinical committees.
Qualifications
- Professional Status: Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Experience: Previous supervisory experience is required.
- Certification: Mandatory ACLS and BLS Provider certifications.
- Core Competencies: Proven ability to communicate with authority, debate issues effectively, and align personal objectives with the strategic goals of the team.

Duties:
– Perform thorough office cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing all areas of the facility.
– Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, waiting areas, offices, and common spaces to uphold the clinic’s standards of hygiene and comfort.
– Manage laundry duties efficiently, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and towels, taking inventory
– Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate cleaning schedules and address any specific cleaning needs promptly.
– Uphold a high level of customer service by responding to requests from staff in a courteous and professional manner.

Skills:

Oasis Fertility Centre, an independent, rapidly growing and highly respected infertility treatment center in Western Canada, is seeking an experienced Embryologist to join our team in Calgary. Our center is accredited by Health Canada to provide Directed Donor services, and we have a strong reputation for providing high quality care to our patients.
The Embryologist will be responsible for playing a pivotal role in ensuring that the highest standards of laboratory practice are maintained. The successful candidate will have a strong background in embryology, including experience with IVF, ICSI, and assisted hatching. Experience with embryo biopsy and oocyte vitrification is an advantage. They will also have excellent communication and leadership skills, and a passion for helping couples achieve their dreams of starting a family.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing day to day laboratory procedures including IVF, ICSI, and assisted hatching, embryo biopsy, and oocyte and embryo vitrification.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting results to physicians and patients
- Providing training and mentoring to junior staff
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Biomedical Science or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an embryologist and an andrologist in an IVF laboratory in Canada.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
